Prepare for Delivery of Your New Frigidaire® Appliance
A little preparation can go a long way toward a smooth delivery and installation!
Below, you will find general preparedness instructions, followed by specific delivery checklists by appliance type.
Plan the Appliance Path
Check the dimensions of the appliances you are purchasing to ensure they will fit inside your home. Measure all doorways, hallways, staircases, and other openings and clear the path for easy access. You may need to remove doors or railings. If the product will not fit, please contact our call center at 800-669-6779 so an associate can work with you on finding a product that will!
Keep in mind:
- Provide Space for the Delivery Team
The delivery team will need space to bring your appliance off the truck. Try to clear a space that will provide easy access when the appliance is being moved into your home.
- Keep Children and Pets Out of the Way
Ensure any children or pets are safely out of the way of the delivery team. Consider your appliance path and find a safe spot where pets can be secured, and children can play out of the way.
- Flights of Stairs
If our delivery team will need to navigate more than three flights of stairs, please contact the Call Center at 800-669-6779 and let us know prior to your delivery.
- No Modifications
Please note, delivery teams will not modify or alter the location or direction of your existing utilities, cabinets or countertops to complete installation.
- Outlet Receptacles
Please take note of whether your outlet is three-prong or four-prong, and that it matches your new appliance.
- Pests
Our delivery and installation teams will not remove or haul away old appliances that are pest infested.
- Gas Conversion Kits
Gas range conversion kits are unable to be installed by our delivery and installation teams. Gas conversion kits must be installed separately by a licensed plumber or your gas company.
Refrigerator Delivery Checklist
- Double check the installation space. Measure the dimensions (height, width, and depth) of the location where the unit will be placed. Any adjacent walls or cabinets will require 3-4 inches (depending upon model) of extra space in the width for the doors to fully open.
- For refrigerator installation with an icemaker and/or ice and water dispenser: A working shut-off valve connected to a ¼-inch stainless steel water line must be located within 6 feet of the appliance and be on the same floor.
- If a shut-off valve is not available, is corroded or the existing water supply line will not accept a ¼-inch stainless steel water line, the delivery team will be unable to uninstall and remove the existing product. Teams are also unable to remove an existing refrigerator with a copper or plastic water supply line attached.
Built-in Refrigerator Delivery Checklist
- If you have purchased a dual trim kit, please note that our installation teams can only install it if you have purchased a matching set of a single-door refrigerator and single-door freezer along with a pairing kit. If your refrigerator and freezer were purchased together, a pairing kit is included.
- If you have purchased a single-door refrigerator or freezer but not the pair and require a trim kit, please ensure you have purchased a single (not dual) trim kit.
- When in doubt, you can call the call center at 800-669-6779 to ensure all items needed for your installation are accounted for.
Dishwasher Delivery Checklist
- An accessible shut-off valve, located under the sink or behind the dishwasher location, must be available. The delivery team cannot install a dishwasher if the shut-off valve is inaccessible. Note: the shut-off valve must be free of rust and corrosion.
- A stainless-steel connection must be used by our delivery teams to connect your water supply from the home to the dishwasher. If the existing water connection from the home’s water supply to the dishwasher is plastic or copper, the team will not be able to uninstall your old product and install the new dishwasher.
- If you have chosen installation and haul away, the dishwasher being replaced should be adjacent to the sink. Standard dishwashers come with a 6-foot power cord, water line and drain hose, which will need to be connected to your home’s water, drain and power supply. These are usually found under the sink. Extending this range will require a longer drain hose, water line and power cord, which are not a part of a standard installation and might require a plumber to complete the installation.
Microwave / Range Hood Delivery Checklist
- If you are planning to exhaust the microwave or range hood to the outside, there must be an existing exhaust duct located in the cabinet above the installation location. The exhaust duct size must match the vent size of the new microwave.
- Delivery teams are not able to modify cabinets, install new ventilation ductwork, connect microwave or range hood to ductwork or modify any existing ventilation ducts.
- Delivery teams are unable to drill through a tile backsplash due to the possibility of cracking the tile.
- For custom hoods (chimney or island), there may be additional extensions or kits necessary. Please contact our call center at 800-669-6779 to confirm.
Dual Fuel or Gas Range Delivery Checklist
- Ensure there is a natural gas shut-off valve located directly behind the range location. Gas valves must be made of metal, in good working condition, and free of any rust. The delivery team will not be able to connect the range to corroded connectors.
- If you plan to use propane, the delivery team will not be able to install your new appliance. Please contact a licensed propane contractor for installation.
- Before you begin searching for a replacement for your range with a Combination Gas/Electric (Dual Fuel) product, it is highly suggested to contact our call center at 800-669-6779 so one of our associates can aid in finding the best replacement and its electrical and gas requirements. Many Dual Fuel ranges come with an attached 4-prong power outlet and require a 4-prong, 240vac home power supply.
Wall Oven Delivery Checklist
- Existing cabinets may have a trim kit applied. This trim must be removed prior to installation as teams are unable to make modifications to your home if an installation is required.
- This replacement may require a “bottom-fitting” trim kit.
Laundry Delivery Checklist
- Installation teams cannot place a new washer or dryer on an existing pedestal. Similarly, installation teams cannot place a newly purchased pedestal under an existing washer or dryer. The only way our teams can install a pedestal is along with a matching washer or dryer.
- If purchasing a front-load washer and dryer, please note whether the units are going to be stacked. If so, a Stacking Kit must be purchased.
Washer Delivery Checklist
- The hot and cold water shut-off valves need to be easily identifiable and accessible. All connections must be in good working condition. Please ensure that the water shut-off valves meet these requirements before delivery. Note: the shut-off valves must be free of rust and corrosion.
Dryer Delivery Checklist
- Ensure there is a natural gas shut-off valve located directly behind the dryer location. Gas valves must be made of metal, in good working condition, and free of any rust. The delivery team will not be able to connect the range to corroded connectors.
- If you plan to use propane, the delivery team will not be able to install your new appliance. Please contact a licensed propane contractor for installation
- When checking the dimensions of your new dryer to ensure it fits in your home, note the need to leave room for the dryer vent.
