Find the Right Induction Cooktop for Your Kitchen
Ready to make the switch to induction? Whether you’re transitioning from electric or gas, you’ll love the convenience and modern look of Frigidaire’s induction cooktops. Before deciding on one of our induction appliances, explore our induction cooktop guide and compare the performance features and benefits of our different models.
To find the best induction cooktop for your kitchen, consider your cooking preferences and needs. Whether you’re searching for a 30” induction cooktop or a 36” induction cooktop, look for features that offer versatility and ease of use, from sensor-powered temperature control to maximized cooktop space. If you tend to use multiple burners at a time, you might choose a model that offers more than four induction burners for flexible cooking.
What Is an Induction Cooktop?
With induction stovetops, cooking is fast and efficient. Unlike gas and electric cooktops, which use thermal conduction to transfer heat from a burner to your cookware, induction cooktops use an incredibly fast and efficient magnetic induction process in which heat transfers directly to your cookware rather than the cooktop surface. Discover the Benefits of Induction Stovetops
Induction cooktops offer many convenient benefits that make cooking that much easier. Because very little heat energy is lost through the induction cooking process, induction stovetops are much more energy-efficient than traditional electric and gas stovetops. Not only do induction stovetops help you save on your energy bill—they also speed up the cooking process with both instant heat and precise temperature control that deliver tasty results every time.
Like electric cooktops, induction cooktops feature a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. Unlike electric models, induction burners are cool enough to clean almost immediately after you finish cooking. Spills and splatters won’t burn on—just wipe them away as you cook. Want the right fit for your cookware? With Frigidaire Auto Sizing™ pan detection, your induction cooktop automatically senses the size of your pan and adjusts the heat accordingly. Learn more about the benefits of induction cooking.
What Cookware Is Compatible With Induction Cooktops?
Induction stovetops are exceptionally convenient, but not all cookware is compatible with induction technology. For the best possible cooking results, we recommend only using high-quality, heavy-gauge cookware on your induction burners. To easily test your current pots and pans for induction compatibility, try sticking a magnet to the bottom of each one. If the magnet clings on, the cookware will perform just fine. If there is little to no magnetic attraction, you’ll want to choose different induction cookware. Check out our induction cookware FAQ for details on choosing the right materials.
